Zombieland- Double Tap

Ten years after the cult hit of the horror comedy “Zombieland”, the fight for survival – and the last Twinkies – enters a new humorous bloody round.
When “Zombieland” hit the screens in 2009, a new cult phenomenon was created. The zombie satire took the conventions of the horror film on the grain and scored points with a top cast – including the memorable guest appearance of Bill Murray. In the sequel, the original cast is united for a new adventure in the post-apocalyptic US.
At the end of “Zombieland”, the nerdy and anxious Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), the psychopathic and Twinkies crazy Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), the smart Wichita (Emma Stone) and her younger sister Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) have become a group battled together and fought for survival together in Los Angeles. Despite all the initial animosity, the four have grown together and have proven in the Pacific Playland Amusement Park that they can take care of each other. What’s next?
In the sequel, the group settles in the White House and enjoys well-rehearsed routines in the fight against the zombies. But Little Rock yearns for freedom and especially for people their age. So she quickly takes off and joins forces with the pacifist hippie musician Berkeley (Avan Jogia).
For Columbus, Tallahassee and Witchita, a road trip across the states begins to bring Little Rock back. On the way they get to do it with a new, evolved zombie-type, more dangerous than ever! Can you save Little Rock in time for the imminent new danger?
For a long time, it did not look as if the long-held wish for a “Zombieland” continuation could be realized, the first news hit like a bomb. Included is the entire original cast of the first part – i. Woody Harrelson (“Solo: A Star Wars Story”), Emma Stone (“La La Land”) and Abigail Breslin (“Ender’s Game”). The cast is supplemented by Rosario Dawson, Luke Wilson and Avan Jogia.
For director Ruben Fleischer and screenwriters Paul Wenick and Rhett Reese, the surprise hit of “Zombieland” was nothing short of a breakthrough in Hollywood. With a budget of $ 24 million, they spent more than $ 100 million. Fleischer had since taken over the direction of the superhero blockbuster “Venom”, while Wenick and Reese wrote the scripts for “Deadpool” and “Deadpool 2”. For “Zombieland 2”, the dream team returns behind the camera.
For fans, the sequel to “Zombieland” is a long-cherished wish. Meanwhile, “Zombieland – Double Holds Better” also has a theatrical release. Fans can mark November 7, 2019 in the calendar. The film was classified by the FSK with a release from 16 years.
