Underwater

A small team of researchers is sent to an unreal terrain: For a month, the team of researchers led by Norah (Kristen Stewart), Emily (Jessica Henwick), saying thumper Paul (T.J. Miller), the captain (Vincent Cassel) and three others are to investigate the ocean floor. The research facility is 5,000 miles from the shore and 700 miles from the bottom of the ocean floor.
However, the drilling triggers a devastating earthquake, masses of water penetrate the station and isolate the crew from the outside world. The chances of rescue are poor, the researchers have to get together to survive this exceptional situation. Suddenly they notice that they are not alone at the bottom of the sea. Did they awaken unimaginable creatures in the depths of the earth?
With his first films “Love” and “The Signal”, director William Eubank has already impressively demonstrated that he has a knack for supernatural sci-fi fabrics. In “Underwater”, a small crew on the seemingly unexplored ocean floor is surprised by forces that have what it takes to come from a horror film like “Alien”.
Filming was already completed in 2017, the delay in the release is due to Disney’s purchase of 20th Century Fox. The script was written by Brian Duffield (“The Baysitter”) and Adam Cozad (“Legend of Tarzan”).
Right at the beginning of the cinema year 2020, horror fans can look forward to the release of “Underwater – It is Awakened”. The film starts on January 9, 2020 in the cinema. The FSK has not yet given an age rating.
The main role is played by Kristen Stewart (“Personal Shopper”), who had shaved her hair short for the role. Also included: T.J. Miller (“Silicon Valley”), Vincent Cassel (“Black Swan”) and Jessica Henwick (“Iron Fist”).
