Timmy Failure-Mistakes Were Made

Filming of the popular children’s book series of the same name about the somewhat clumsy, 11-year-old Timmy, who runs his own detective agency.
11-year-old Timmy (Winslow Fegley) does not necessarily share the interests of his peers, instead he enthusiastically runs his own detective agency. Together with his (imaginary) companion, Eisbär Super, and his friend and former employee Rollo Tookus (Kei). With his investigations, he tries to make his neighborhood in Portland safer and solves every case, however insoluble. When his “flop-o-mobil”, that is, his mother’s Segway, is stolen, he suspects a large-scale plot against him.
Timmy, Rollo and Super try to track down the thief by joining forces. But they stumble from one mishap to the next and ultimately Timmy’s detective agency faces the abyss. Can he get the flop-o-mobil back in his possession or will he have to give up the detective agency beforehand?
Based on Stephan Pastis’ children’s book series of the same name, Disney 2020 publishes little Timmy’s adventures, which not only ensure good entertainment for the younger audience. Not a Disney + yet? You can complete a free trial subscription here. *
Directed by Oscar winner Tom McCarty (“Spotlight”), who is also responsible for the script adaptation. The film is occupied by young actors, which are rather unknown in Germany, such as Winslow Fegley (“The Good Doctor”), Kei (“Fresh off the Boat”) and Ai-Chan Carrier. Support is available from adult actors around Wallace Shawn (“Young Sheldon”) and Craig Robinson (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, “Dolemite is my Name”).
The shooting began in Canada in June 2018, and more shots were taken in Portland. In the United States, the film started on Disney + at the beginning of January 2020, before “Timmy Flop” was screened at the Sundance Film Festival in the same month.
