The King’s Man

Prequel to the “Kingsman” series about the emergence of the secret organization of the same name, which was founded after the First World War to keep peace.
Before Part 3 of the “Kingsman” series hits the cinemas, we can look forward to the prequel! The film takes place at the beginning of the 20th century and tells the founding story of the non-governmental secret organization. So far, we only know that the Kingsman were founded by British nobles after World War I to maintain global peace.
According to initial information, the prequel is about young Conrad (Harris Dickinson), a slightly spoiled noble son who is introduced to the secrets of espionage by an older member of the organization and trained as an agent.
So far, the film has been ominously teased by the studio with a group of the worst tyrants and criminal geniuses teaming up to erase millions of people. Your fate now depends on a single man who, in the race against time, tries to thwart his opponents’ diabolical plan.
Since the prequel takes place in a completely different time than “Kingsman: The Secret Service” and “Kingsman: The Golden Circle”, we see many new faces in the prehistory. The role of Kingsman candidate Conrad is taken over by Harris Dickinson, who has already shown himself to a larger audience with the film “The Darkest Minds”. The rest of the cast is also impressive: In addition to Hollywood greats such as Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, Djimon Hounsou, Tom Holländer and Gemma Arterton, there are also two Germans who have made it onto the international market – Daniel Brühl and Alexandra Maria Lara.
So far it is unfortunately unclear which roles these actors take on.
“The King’s Man” – Background
Even though Part 2 of the “Kingsman” series performed somewhat poorly at the box office, the box office result of both films is a good $ 825 million. It quickly became clear that the series would continue. According to director Matthew Vaughn, next to the conclusion of the trilogy and the prequel, there is also an eight-part mini series! Nevertheless, he says that he does not want to overdo it, since successful formats quickly run the risk of spanning the arc …
Just like the first two “Kingsman” films, which play in the present and illuminate the student-teacher constellation between Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and Harry Hart (Colin Firth), the prequel is drawn to the world of the comic of the same name by Mark Inspire Millar and Dave Gibbons. The plot is not based on a specific comic template. The screenplay was again written by Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn.
The film was shot in Italy, among others, and the film continues to play in the former Yugoslavia. The first theatrical release was planned for November 2019, after the cast was expanded, the start was postponed: “The King’s Man” will be released in Germany on September 17, 2020.
