The Angry Birds Movie 2

With “Angry Birds” the adaptation of the most successful games app of all time reaches the cinemas. The 3D animated, Finnish-American action comedy puts the plushy birds at the center of their first screen adventure. The feathered friends Red (spoken in the original by Jason Sudeikis), Chuck (Josh Gad) and Bomb (Danny McBride) live on an idyllic island inhabited by all sorts of birds. Red became an outsider early on because of his fiery temper, and since then the grumpy bird has avoided the happy-go-lucky residents. One day a group of green pigs comes by ship to the isolated island. Even if leader Leonard (Bill Hader) and his friends are welcomed, Red does not trust him. And rightly so, because soon the thieving pigs stole the valuable eggs of the birds. Now it’s up to Red and his friends to save the treasure. They encounter great challenges and find new allies such as the bird-lady Matilda (Maya Rudolph) or the mighty eagle (Peter Dinklage). The adaptation of the downloaded over all platforms more than a billion times downloaded game is also the directorial debut for Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly. The two have previously gained experience as animation artists and storyboard draftsmen in the animation genre. The film is produced by Sony Pictures and Rovio Mobile, the developer studio of the game. In the run-up to the debate, it was hotly debated whether a game without a real story could even be broadcast on the big screen. Jon Vitti was hired for the script...
