Ready or Not

Comedy splatter about a young bride who has to play a game as a ritual of adoption in the family of her husband – which leads to a bloody fight for survival.
It was to be the happiest day in her life: Grace (Samara Weaving) marries her partner Alex (Mark O’Brien). After the festivities, Alex’s massive family is already waiting for Grace to play a game with them as a kind of ritual of adoption into the family – the choice is for hiding.
What begins as fun for Grace quickly becomes the most serious struggle for survival: The family arms themselves and hunts for the young bride. In search of Grace, the family members roam the house and inadvertently roll the heads of their confidants and employees.
Can Grace escape or fall victim to the murderous ritual of the Le Domas family? Is there really something in the saying that the family has made a pact with the devil? Or is it just humbug?
Responsible for the comedy splatter “Ready or Not” are the mostly unknown directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet. The two filmmakers have been working together for several years and have realized their first films in the horror genre, such as “V / H / S” and “Devil’s Due”.
The cast is impressive: starring Samara Weaving, niece of “Lord of the Rings” star Hugo Weaving, who was last featured in the Netflix production “The Babysitter”. Her film husband is portrayed by Mark O’Brien, who most recently played a supporting role in Bad Times at the El Royale. The illustrious and murderous Le Domas family is portrayed by Andie MacDowell (“No Way Out”), Adam Brody (“O.C. California”, “Shazam”), and Henry Czerny (“Sharp Objects”).
From September 26, 2019, the tongue-in-cheek splatter film can be seen in German cinemas. The FSK gave a age recommendation from 16 years.
