Hellboy 3: Call of Darkness: In the reboot of the “Hellboy” movies, “Stranger Things” star David Harbor takes on the role of the red half-demon to tell a new, adult story.
For two films Ron Perlman played Hellboy, a half-demon summoned by the Nazis to usher in the apocalypse. In the action-packed Reboot “Hellboy: Call of Darkness” the cards are shuffled – a completely new cast tells a much darker, more mature story based on the ingenious comics of Mike Mignola.
The Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (B.P.R.D.), led by Hellboy’s adoptive father Trevor Bruttenholm (Ian McShane), always jumps into the closet when supernatural forces threaten humanity. The response consists of Hellboy (David Harbor), a half-demon with a very bad temper, the soldier Ben Daimio (Daniel Dae Kim), who can turn himself into a Jaguar, and the magician Alice Monaghan (Sasha Lane). But this time, Hellboy and his team are pushed to their limits.
The ancient witch Nimue (Milla Jovovich), also known as the Blood Queen, has risen again. Their resurrection marks the legend of the end of the world – an event to which the half-demon Hellboy himself has a rather ambivalent relationship. After all, his right hand is not only an unbeatably powerful weapon, but also the key to the end of the world. Will the seductive Nimue succeed in pulling Hellboy to her side? Even the legendary magician Merlin (Brian Gleeson) could not resist her.
