Desmond T Doss is patriotic and very believing. In the Bible it is written, “Thou shalt not kill.” A principle to which he is particularly attached. When the Second World War broke out, he was enlisted like all the young people of his age. In training, he does not want to use a firearm, which makes him the scapegoat of the others. As a doctor, he wants to go to the front line but refuses to take part directly in the fight not wanting to have blood on his hands. He finds another way to act as a soldier: During the Battle of Okinawa, he succeeds in bringing the wounded soldiers one by one from the field of battle.
