Gloria Bell

Remake of the Chilean original of the same name about a divorced woman who falls in love again and experiences a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
Gloria (Julianne Moore) is divorced, has two grown children and a somewhat boring office job. Actually, she is quite happy with her life, even if she sometimes feels a bit lonely. But even then she does not sink into self-pity, but goes alone to the clubs of Los Angeles and dances there extensively.
One night she meets a man there, Arnold (John Turturro), who is also divorced and has children. The two plunge into the love adventure, but have to realize that the mental baggage that everyone brings into the relationship, soon becomes a test of stress.
After some back and forth Gloria decides to finally give Arnold the passport and informs him of this by firing his house with a paintball pistol. Afterwards, she lets her everyday life come and continues to enjoy her life.
Five years after his first “Gloria” film, Chilean director Sebasti├ín Lelio brings an American adaptation of his film to the cinemas. In 2013, Paulina Garcia won another silver bear at the Berlinale, and now we see Julianne Moore in the lead role. She is in no way inferior to Garcia and exudes energy and joie de vivre just like her Chilean role model.
