In the 1930s, Bobby was a naive young Jew from New York who landed in Hollywood with the ambition to do great things. It is reluctantly that his uncle Phil finds him a job. This man is the agent of the greatest stars and he is respected by all. Cumulating the jobs in hopes of climbing the ladder, Bobby quickly falls in love with Vonnie, the secretary of his uncle. Except that this woman is already a couple. She nevertheless decides to become her friend, presenting a multitude of different places and people. When his union flaunts, Bobby is too happy to console her.
